General Conference Overview

The conference was hosted by the Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital and the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine.

The theme of this multidisciplinary conference was "Improving Quality of Life for Donors, Recipients and Families."

The targeted audience included psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, ethicists and other medical and mental health professionals who work with transplant patients, families and donors.

The conference agenda included keynote symposia, clinical workshops and paper sessions of peer-reviewed material obtained from abstract submissions from conference participants.

The conference addressed the complicated psychosocial aspects of organ transplantation and procurement.
